The objectives defined by the call included the mobility of artists and their intercultural dialogue; the creation of intercultural platforms to share experiences; and the establishment of connections between thriving art actors in Europe and Turkey. In doing so, civil society is supported and culturally diverse programming in arts and culture is facilitated, taking into account the local cultural values and practices of Turkey in Europe, all with a maximum amount of public participation. Nearly two years later, we are happy and proud to present this book which illustrates our many endeavours to meet these ambitious goals by creating bridges between Turkey and three countries in the EU: France, Germany and the Netherlands. Artist residencies in France, Germany, the Netherlands and Turkey formed a creative network. A local team came into being under the tireless leadership and sheer limitless enthusiasm and devotion of Sait Fehmi Ağduk. The professional team of İKSV, with their decades-long expertise, were key to the meticulous hosting and assistance of 12 artists in its dedicated İKSV Residency, their sabbaticals in smaller towns and the successful management of the open call and the communication campaigns with press conferences, a website and social media pages. The final member of the team, the editor of the book you are about to enjoy, Zeynep Berik has done a tremendous job in distilling a two-years-long journey into this unique recollection 4. The rest, as they say, is history — involving sixteen residencies in four countries, a total of 21 events and many activities by 30 artists, with everything culminating in this sumptuous publication.
